With a world that is ever growing towards gaming and all its technological advances, it can be no surprise that speed clicks have made their way into the all-time records. The world record for the fastest click with a computer mouse belongs to Dylan Allred of Utah, USA. He set the record on October 19th, 2019, clicking at an incredible 5.59 clicks per second (CPS)!
Allred competed in the Mouse 2.0 Online Speed Click Competition where hundreds of competitors tested their speed and accuracy using an improvised gaming mouse with special software to track the rate of their clicks. After achieving his record setting 5.59 CPS, Allred was asked how he was able to obtain this impressive feat; He claimed it was simply due to constant practice and good technique, such as grip posture and finger placement on the mouse buttons.
Speed clicking is a skill practiced by gamers looking for an advantage over their opponents in competitive matches. It requires quick reflexes in order to properly navigate menus or rapidly select different targets during real-time game scenarios. It not only provides a competitive edge but can increase overall efficiency by simplifying certain tasks during a match or simply saving time from browsing through menus or gathering resources faster than your opponents.
